Director Thembi L. Banks and actors Algee Smith, Sanaa Lathan and Sierra Capri spoke to THR about their film ’Young. Wild. Free.’ Banks shared how the project was inspired by her love of John Hughes movies and wanting to tell a coming-of-age story that reflected her community.
