While nothing in the tone formula needed to be tweaked (hey, no need to fix what isn’t broken, right?), Fender did want to put a more refined spin on the Telecaster. Enter the Custom Telecaster, a guitar that was essentially the tried-and-true Tele design dressed up in its evening best. By adding binding to the top and back of a resonant alder body, Fender imparted a little extra elegance to the Tele design for a slight upcharge. Our Wildwood 10 1962 Custom Telecaster captures the sophisticated looks and classic tone of the sixties originals.
