Personally, the seasons of autumn and winter are the perfect time to dive into Jon’s solo masterpiece that is Destination Anywhere. Since it was one of his most experimental albums, I’m always tempted to try approaches that might be a little “more obscure“. This time around, the show was dubbed with two quite different sounding sources since the second tape didn’t have the clarity or soundscape of the first one. After having found a setting for the entire show, I further on applied different things to each part get a sound that is more alike. It’s a very widespread sound, especially in the first half, that kind of floats around your head a bit. It gave room for more details in the music, but also lifted problems hidden before like digital tape noise near the end August 7, 4:15 or bass distortions.
