Sculpting the horse neck - Battle of Anghiari sculpture

To sculpt the neck for the horse I first positioned the neck in a regular pose based on my horse study. Once the neck looked correct, I warmed up the neck with heat lamps and repositioned the neck to match the battle of anghiari image I am using for my reference. The neck will be tweaked as the horse sculpture advances. Right now the head and neck are still in the rough stages. To view the post on my blog visit
