Released on the flip-side of Monroe’s hit “They Were Doin’ The Mambo” ( ), this arrangement of “Mister Sandman” is the very track that somehow inspired Cadence Records boss Archie Bleyer to re-work the tune into one of the decade’s most distinctive blockbuster hits for his quartet The Chordettes (listen here: ).
