Misha Alperin was the first Soviet-born ECM artist I ever heard. His manner of playing the piano was a revelation to me. He was a unique musician, a brilliant pianist, a true novator. There are few of this kind. Now, one less.
I decided to make this video to introduce this extraordinary artist to you. At the same time, I did it because from the very beginning of my publishing activity I had a strong wish to approach Misha Alperin with a publishing offer, which I was hoping to do next year. His music I admire a lot. Now, the man is gone. but there’s a heritage left behind. A precious one.
Rest in Peace, Misha Alperin. You live on in your art.
