Throughout Hazbin Hotel season 1 it was clear that Adam did not deserve to be in Heaven. His personality and actions, not only as an angel but also when he was human, were very similar to the some of the sinners in Hell. After Sir Pentious ascended into Heaven from good actions, like trying to repent at the hotel and showing bravery through sacrificing himself, it makes perfect sense that Adam should descend into Hell and become a sinner for all of his bad and cruel actions! This would make for a great exchange after the Hazbin Hotel finale to shift the balance between Heaven and Hell going forward.
