Fred Cole: BURGESS HOME (epilogue)

My multi-video tribute to Fred Cole’s early songwriting comes directly out of the “WEEDEN : Lost Chapter“ collection of songs. I’m brought back to “BURGESS HOME”, where the series started. This NEWER VERSION of the song that Fred and I composed is arranged using his original vocals and my guitar accompaniment from 1968, combined with my recent addition of other instrumental sounds. Fred’s lyrics for the song provide a mystery, poetically suggesting a place of final repose. Fred passed away little more than a month ago. But in no way is he “gone.” All who knew him will hold some element of his being…and their personal experiences of him. Fred Cole’s brief association with me was just a blink in his long songwriting and performing career but for me it represents an interesting period of creative growth and which I thought worthwhile to share.
