Chicago and Northwest Indiana were a hit with a historic snowstorm on February 1st, 2015, with snowfall totals of over 16 inches. I went out to catch the first train of the day on Amtrak’s Michigan line burst through all of the snowfall.
Train 350 (Chicago-Pontiac, MI) came through at or close to 100mph, appearing and disappearing in seconds. The location is a bit northeast of Porter, Indiana; Amtrak can operate up to 110mph between Porter and Kalamazoo.
