गन्धर्व वेद Gazi Khan - Laal Meri Pat (Anahad Foundation - Folk Music Rajasthan)

Song brief: Dama Dam Mast Qalandar is a spiritual song written in the honor of the most revered Sufi saint of Sindh, Shahbaz Qalandar of Sehwan Sharif. The original poem was initially written by Amir Khusrow, then further modified by Bulleh Shah. Although, quite popular, this rendition by Ghazi Khan is a little different as it’s based on Raag Shyaam Kalyan, which is an evening Raaga, meant to be sung after sunset, as per the time theory of Raagas. This is set to Keherwa Taal, 8 beat cycle. This rendition is composed in Sindhi Language. This video is a part of Anahad’s EQUALS Folk Music Documentation.
