Conservative event in Brussels shut down by police over ‘possibility of disorder’
Brussels police abruptly ended the National Conservatism Conference, featuring Hungary PM Viktor Orban and the UK’s Nigel Farage “due to possibility of public disorder,” an officer said, as cited by Politico.
Law enforcement arrived two hours into the event at the Claridge venue, where Farage was set to speak, informing organizers of the shutdown. Farage criticized the authorities as “monstrous“ for canceling the event amid ongoing drama outside the venue.
