Phone call reveals Cline has no intention of resigning or standing down re-election effort

State school board member Natalie Cline—censured by the legislature—gave 2News a recording of a phone call with a state GOP figure, which she said highlights “critical concerns of election interference” in her race for re-election. She also made clear on the call she is not resigning—or folding her campaign—despite a slew of politicians, including Gov. Cox, publicly asking or demanding she step down. Cline recorded the call on Tuesday, when she spoke to the executive director of the Utah Republican Party, Brantley Eason. “The governor is not inclined to move forward as far as retaining your seat,” said Eason to Cline.
