Metronomy - Lately Drum Cover

| instagram @callen1034 | twitter @callen1034 Another one I recorded during my winter holiday back home. One of my favorite songs from last year, from one of my favorite albums of last year. This one was a bit of an experiment – I’d never combined drums and piano in a cover before. Working out the keyboard part and figuring out how to transition smoothly between piano and drums took a lot of practice and planning, but I’m very happy with how it turned out – hope you all enjoy it! I was lucky enough to see Metronomy play in Washington D.C. back in January, and they opened with this track. Absolutely incredible. Little did I know it would be one of the last gigs I’d go to for what will likely be a very long time. The chorus of this song feels especially relevant these days: “Lately / I’ll call you / When I do / Nothing.“
