Mayim Mayim (Israel) FDCSCOV

Mayim Mayim (“water water“) is an old Israeli folk dance. It is performed here by members (some brand new to folk dancing) of the Folk Dance Club of Sun City Oro Valley (FDCSCOV) located in the outskirts of Tucson, Arizona. Shirley Hauck, an experienced folk dance instructor, is teaching it. Some 90% of club members are residents of this retirement community. We are proud to have formed the first folk dance club in SCOV’s 20 year history. Now in its 3rd month of existence it already boasts of having over 50 members... and it seems to be still growing. Harvey Gardner is Club Leader and teacher of most of the dances. The club is fortunate indeed, to have its membership include experienced folk dancers like Shirley Hauck, Elise Asch and David van Hulsteyn, to assist in teaching at most every session.
