Después de horas y horas de rebotar, aterrizamos en la comunidad tribal de Angapena, un lugar habitado por una remota tribu de guerreros llamada Anga. Al principio, dudaban completamente en hacernos pasar el rato o dejarnos pasar la noche. Este es el rincón más remoto de la civilización y los visitantes no son comunes. Bromeaban abiertamente sobre matarnos y hacernos daño, ¡disparando flechas a centímetros de nuestros pies mientras todo el pueblo señalaba y reía! Afortunadamente, nuestro encanto y dinero eventualmente nos llevan a todos a convertirnos en amigos. Pasamos la noche en una de sus cabañas antes de continuar nuestro viaje. Lo más destacado de nuestra visita fue ver sus prácticas y creencias espirituales, que se exhiben por completo en forma de momias brutales, o miembros importantes de la tribu: jefes, ancianos, guerreros, etc. Caminamos una hora por una montaña nublada, fangosa, áspera y espeluznante que eventualmente condujo a este santuario de cadáveres. After hours and hours of bouncing around, we landed in the tribal community of Angapena - a place inhabited by a remote tribe of warriors called Anga. At first, they were fully hesitant about having us hang around or letting us stay overnight. This is the most remote corner of civilization and visitors aren’t common. They openly joked about killing and hurting us - shooting arrows inches from our feet while the entire village pointed and laughed! Thankfully, our charm and money eventually lead us all to becoming friends. We stayed the night in one of their huts before continuing our journey. The highlight of our visit was seeing their spiritual practices and beliefs - which are on full display on the form of brutal mummies - or important tribe members—chiefs, elders, warriors, etc. We trekked an hour up an uncertain muddy, rough, and spooky fogged mountain that eventually lead to this shrine of dead bodies.
