Boney M.: The Marek Album Megamixes, Part III (1982-89)

The third suite of Marek’s album megamixes chronicling Boney M.’s years with Reggie Tsiboe who replaced Bobby Farrell. Unfortunately this also affected the group’s popularity. After spending 2½ years working on 10,000 Lightyears that was finally released in May 1984, it produced no hit singles. Farian rushed two new singles out, both cover version of Italian hits, Kalimba De Luna and Happy Song, the latter reuniting the group with Bobby Farrell, and they finally returned to the German Top 20 after 3 years. The group’s final album Eye Dance was a flop and after their 10th anniversary show, Boney M.’s career as a recording group was essentially over. Marek has comprised three megamixes, one for Lightyears, one for Eye Dance, and one compiling the group’s non-album selections, also including later one-off recordings such as Josephine Baker (1989) and Papa Chico (1993).
