The purpose of this class is to learn how to apply Aikido techniques in reality. They have to be short and quick. Aikido techniques we train at the dojo are designed to train safely and thus they are not suitable to be used in reality. However, it does not mean Aikido techniques are useless. We just need to know how we can apply them in reality. That is why we had this special class for our students. Mori Sensei believes that Aikido practitioners need to learn this type of applied techniques too to be able to use Aikido outside the dojo. Also, Aikido is not limited to self-defending, but it can be used to take the initiative. Yet, we need to practise to learn how to initiate the techniques from our side.
