JK Rowling praised for calling out trans-activists while slamming a new Scottish law

The best-selling author has been receiving messages of support for calling out trans-activists while challenging Scotland’s new hate crime law. The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 sets out in Section 4 the characteristics protected by the act, which include: age, disability, religion or cultural group, sexual orientation and transgender identity. The legislation doesn’t specifically ban hatred against women. The Harry Potter author claimed the legislation is “wide open to abuse by activists” while referencing several trans-activists. “Thank you for your seeming never-ending courage and humour, it is a light in dark times and has already made such a difference,” one user posted on X. “Thank you for speaking for millions of us,” another person wrote.
