Bernstein in his Last Years | A Glimpse of his Genius (4/4)
Tchaikovsky’s Sixth Symphony was recorded three times by Leonard Bernstein: in 1953, 1964, and 1987. The stark differences between them, particularly in the final movement, are not without reason. Morris Lang, a former New York Philharmonic timpanist and percussionist who took part in the recording, explained why.
