Leonard Bernstein, American music’s maestro, could be as tyrannical as he was brilliant. Video corrections: 1. Bernstein was pronounced ‘Bern-STINE’ by Lenny. In this video, his name is pronounced ‘Bern-STEEN’. The New York Times, in its article ‘ON LANGUAGE: STINE OR STEEN’ cites ‘Bern-STEEN’ as correct. Still, in this video, he is referred to as ‘Bern-STEEN’ by only one subject, but ‘BERN-STINE’ by the rest. Given the majority are in the ‘STINE’ camp, and this was how Lenny pronounced his name, we should have gone with STINE. 2. 9:28: Digital → Analogue. 3. Lenny was born in Lawrence, MA.
