Dominique Delouche meets Monique Loudières, one of the most outstanding dancer of her generation. Born in 1956, Monique Loudières trained at the Paris Opera Shool of Dance from 1967 to 1972 before joining the corps de ballet at the age of 16. Three years later, she made her début with The Spirit of the Rose, Bluebird in The Sleeping Beauty, and Auréole. Noticed by Rudolf Noureev, Monique Loudières got the chance in 1981 to prove herself as a great dancer by performing the role of Kitri in Don Quixote. Following the performance, Monique Loudières was named “étoile“ of the Paris Opera Ballet. Since then, she appeared on the greatest dance stages across the world. Invited by the Boston Ballet, the Scala Theatre Ballet, the Hamburg Ballet, the Stuttgart Ballet, the Staatsoper Berlin – to name but a few – Monique Loudières danced all the Major works of the classical and neo-classical repertoires, with a predilection for great dramatic heroines, such as those in the ballets Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Manon, Notre-Dame de Paris or Eugene Onegin.
