Russia Promises More Military Support for Burkina Faso’s Military Junta | Firstpost Africa
Russia’s foreign minister Sergei Lavorv has pledged more support to Burkina Faso’s military Junta and their leader Ibrahim Traore in fighting militant groups as he continues on with his whirlwind tour of West Africa in an attempt to fill a vacuum left by the region’s traditional Western partners. Russia will now deploy military instructors in Burkina Faso and the deployment size will grow with time. During the interaction with Burkina Faso’s officials, Lavrov thanked the West African Nation for having a neutral stance regarding the war in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Lavrov continues with this Africa tour as he heads to Chad in a bid to increase Russia’s popularity in the Sahel Region.
