Held each year at the 18th century colossal Petrovaradin Fortress in Novi Sad in Serbia, EXIT started as a student movement whose massive protests brought down the oppressive regime in Serbia. EXIT became the first mass event to gather people from all over the Balkans after a long decade of divisions. In 2021, the festival marked its 20th anniversary and went down in history as the first major festival in Europe to take place after the pandemic, with over 180,000 music lovers from more than 70 countries.
