On March 24th 1999, following the failure of the 1998 ceasefire between Serbs and Kosovar Albanians, NATO began a campaign of debatable legality in order to end the Kosovo conflict. Over the next 78 days 1,008 Serb soldiers and police an estimated 489 to 528 civilians would be killed. NATO would lose 3 fighters, including an F-117, 2 helicopters, 2 soldiers and 46 UAVs.
