NSW on high alert as temperatures to hit 40 degrees
Parts of New South Wales are on high alert for extreme fire danger as temperatures are predicted to hit 40 degrees on Thursday.
Temperatures across Greater Sydney, Central Coast and the Hunter are to soar today.
The Harbour City is expecting a top of 37 degrees today.
While the Western Suburbs are set to sizzle in 40-plus degree temperatures.
The bureau is predicting a southerly buster to sweep across the state late this afternoon, bringing north-easterly winds of up to 25 kilometres per hour.
