The U.S. is Starting Another War to Distract from Landmark Case Against Israel

Biden has approved a second round of strikes in Yemen, which his administration claims is in retaliation for Ansar Allah’s targeting of Israel-linked ships in the Red Sea. But while the U.S. is defending Israel publicly, politically and militarily, it’s also trying to distract from the historic genocide case South Africa has brought against Israel in the International Court of Justice. South Africa’s team has laid out a thorough case, pointing to Israel’s genocidal rhetoric (Defense Minister Gallant saying there would be “no electricity, no food, no fuel“) and genocidal actions (23,000 Palestinians killed, 70% of whom are women and children, 7,000 buried under rubble, 60,000 injured), while Israel continues to say “but Hamas...“ as if the Oct. 7 attack they were warned about and ignored is justification for committing genocide.
