Join us for an evening with Rob Gallerani as we explore the development of Diablo II: Resurrected!
Blizzard recently had the opportunity to remaster the genre-defining game, and Rob served as Design Director. Tasked with taking a 20-year-old game and modernizing it, he also had to maintain elements that made the game so memorable to fans. While Diablo II has remained the same for 20 years, the gaming world has changed entirely.
During this event, Rob shares the design aspects his team used to bring the classic experience everyone remembers into the modern era. Special focus is spent on controller support, uncapped framerate, new QOL features, as well as many features they chose not to add (including the controversial Charm Bag). This talk is half post mortem, half forward looking to the state of game creation.
