A new Arch Linux installation image based on Linux Kernel has been released. Arch Linux is a lightweight distribution for advanced users who always want the latest packages. The installation image, which includes the most crucial Linux tools, is also useful as a recovery or emergency image. A guided installer is now included in the installation image. Arch Linux is a lightweight and flexible Linux distribution that tries to Keep It Simple. Currently we have official packages optimized for the x86-64 architecture. We complement our official package sets with a community-operated package repository that grows in size and quality each and every day. Our strong community is diverse and helpful, and we pride ourselves on the range of skillsets and uses for Arch that stem from it. Please check out our forums and mailing lists to get your feet wet. Also glance through our wiki if you want to learn more about Arch. Release Info The image can be burned to a CD, mounted as an ISO file, or be directly written to a USB stick using a utility like dd. It is intended for new installations only; an existing Arch Linux system can always be updated with pacman -Syu. Current Release: Included Kernel: ISO Size: 790.3 MB We are very happy to announce that accessibility features have been added to our installation medium with archiso v49. From release onwards these are available via the 2nd boot loader menu item. Many thanks go to Alexander Epaneshnikov who integrated the features from the TalkingArch project into archiso’s releng profile, which is used for creating the installation medium. Note: The bootloader timeouts have been set to 15s to allow blind users to select the menu item as the bootloaders themselves do not offer accessibility features. The timeout is stopped as soon as e.g. an arrow key is pressed. #archlinux #gnome #xfce #kdeplasma #lxde #lxqt #matedesktop Todays Video - Arch Linux released!
