ABOUT PILGRIMS OF YEARNING: Nostalgic and wistful yet expansive in range, Pilgrims of Yearning’s unique sound was born in 2018, after Juls and Claudio moved to the United States from Chile. Pilgrims of Yearning released their first EP Bestarium that same year and followed with the album “Forsaken Lands“, released in the middle of the pandemic. Their sound has been described as “your soundtrack to introspection, lament and disdain“, and as an eclectic mix of Post-Punk, French Coldwave and Latin American influences. They have previously billed with bands like She Past Away, Kaelan Mikla and Vision Video, and had an acclaimed participation in the first edition of the Dark Spring Boston Festival in May 2022, among bands like Golden Apes, Yama Uba, Secret Shame and Child of Night. They’ll be touring the EU and the UK in October 2023 with shows in the Return to the Batcave Festival, London, Coventry, Turin and Berlin.
LYRICS:
Long ways
Underground that still hold secrets
Alleys lonely and quiet
I walk unseen, unknown
And desire pains me ephemeral
What I want
Is beyond their white castles
Their sham warmth
Old days
When the air was cold, new and loud
It would bring, we could hear
Wild horses run
Like thunders
Chorus:
Shining rivers of amber dust
I’m straying, you’re breaking
Howls and sirens
Laughs and wonders
Are blaring all around
Open veins feed a ruthless heart
Devious wraiths, on whom are preying?
Flowers give in
We feel them crumbling
Decaying, decaying
I wait holding onto
Old crumpled tickets
Alien to everything that I once
Feared and loved
And the fire takes me raw and visceral
I still haunt
Empty stops, faded boulevards
Long lost
Submerged in...
(Chorus)
Shining rivers
We’re falling through...
