Lilith. Lyrical vocal cycle for soprano and orchestra, composed in 2023. Music - Mark Zilberman. Lyrics - Vadim Shefner. Soloist - Daria Tereshchenko, soprano. While in the modern view, Lilith’s image is often painted in dark colors, this vocal cycle primarily focuses on the brighter aspects of Lilith and the unfulfilled love between Adam and Lilith. The composition is based on the poem “Lilith“ written by poet Vadim Shefner nearly six decades ago. According to legend, Lilith was Adam’s first wife, who left Eden, paving the way for the creation of Eve. This intriguing narrative inspired Vadim Shefner’s 1965 poem, which in turn inspired my vocal cycle “Lilith“, where legend, progress and love are mixed together. Lilith’s music, composed in 2023 in Canada, was recorded in Toronto with the talented Canadian soprano Daria Tereshchenko. The images for this video are being generated by Artificial Intelligence, aligning with the poetic text and music. Discover more about the project on .
