1st RECORDING OF: Lili Marlene - Lale Andersen (1939 version)

A favorite for both the German and Allied WWII troops--and first issued under the title “Lied eines Jungen Wachtpostens” (Song Of A Young Sentry)--this original German-language recording by the German singer-songwriter became one of the more historically significant commercial music discs ever made.(she later also recorded an English-language version).
