KINEMATICS | Serial robot vs. Parallel robot

Six degrees of freedom (6DOF) achieved in two completely different ways. The serial architecture of the world’s smallest industrial robot from Mecademic has a large workspace and compact design while the parallel architecture of the Hexapod (also known as a Gough-Stewart platform) can reach extremely high speed and acceleration since all the heavy parts (motors, guides, gearboxes) can be mounted on the fixed base.
