Face-changing is an ancient Chinese performance art that is a component of Sichuan opera. Hu Yibo, 13, learned the act from his grandfather and other experienced masters. Dressed in brightly-colored costumes and while changing from one mask to another in just the blink of an eye, Yibo skillfully swipes open a fan to hide his “magical“ movements. As a young inheritor, he undertakes daily training to perfect his skill set in the hope of becoming a master one day.
