Marrakech - Shane Hennessy

Marrakech is one of the most amazing places in the world. It retains a rich culture, with influences from each of its past rulers and peoples. My goal with this composition was to musically capture the essence of Marrakech, by fusing a melody derived from the traditional Arabic Maqam Hijaz with modern musical elements like the strong backbeat groove and jazz-fusion-style chords.
