Max Cavalera and Son Talk Go Ahead and Die, Horror Movies, Brazilian Metal and More

Featuring metal icon Max Cavalera and his son, Igor Amadeus, as well as Khemmis drummer Zach Coleman, Go Ahead and Die are a death-thrash supergroup with serious bona fides. The Arizona trio are set to drop their self-titled debut full-length — which Max describes as a mash-up of Discharge and Celtic Frost, with a nod to the early Brazilian extreme-metal scene — on June 11th via Nuclear Blast. Ahead of the big drop, we chatted with the father-son duo to discuss the origins of the project, how horror movies and home cooking influenced it, the challenges of playing in a family band and more.
