Operation Jaywick was a daring World War II raid conducted in September 1943, in which a team of 14 commandos from the Australian Z Special Unit sailed from Australia to Singapore in a captured Japanese fishing boat named the Krait. Disguised as local fishermen, they covertly infiltrated the harbor of Japanese-occupied Singapore. Using collapsible canoes, they placed limpet mines on enemy ships, sinking or damaging seven vessels totaling over 37,000 tons. The commandos then safely returned to Australia, achieving one of the most successful special operations of the war and significantly disrupting Japanese shipping. #shorts
