Building The First Maritime Spaceport for Tourism

Following months of refurbishment and retrofitting work in Louisiana, Marine Spaceport Voyager, the first-ever marine spaceport for human space flight, is nearly ready to make its journey to the Florida Space Coast to begin test flights. We’ve recently completed the custom A-frame, which holds the capsule during launch and lifts the capsule back onto the vessel during retrieval. MS Voyager is an innovation that will allow us to scale operations – we will be able to launch from more locations and create ideal, safe launch conditions at sea. The ship and its amenities will also provide Explorers with a very special voyage before and after their spaceflights. Voyager’s name is inspired by the groundbreaking achievements of NASA’s Voyager probes. Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 and 2 ventured far into the Solar System, unveiling secrets of distant planets. Our own Voyager is an homage to the legacy of exploration and discovery set forth by these probes, which are still operational today.
