BRICS leaders call for goal of de-dollarization of world economy

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa made the remarks on Wednesday during his address at the main session of talks with leaders and senior officials of the BRICS grouping of nations. Indian Prime Minister Modi also said India welcomed the steps taken to increase financial integration of BRICS countries. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that it is time for the BRICS nations to create new payment methods between them. Lula addressed the BRICS summit via video conference on the same day. In the opening remarks to a summit of leaders of the BRICS countries, Russian President Putin proposed the creation of a BRICS grain exchange. From Oct. 22 to Oct. 24, the 16th BRICS Summit was held in Kazan, Russia.
