LTJ Bukem @ Club Alsos, Athens 1994 FULL TAPE

Pure gold. A tape cassette recording of LTJ Bukem’s first time in Greece back in 1994. This set is probably one of my favourites from Bukem, at a time when drum n bass/jungle was becoming more popular abroad. This new genre that had emerged from several different genres in the UK rave scene was now going global. Bukem, with his own soulful, ’intelligent’ style, was one of the producers at the forefront of pushing this sound to a wider audience. I absolutely love the sound of the tape recording, a technology that was once so popular for audio recording and playback, but is now obsolete. A lot of classic sets were recorded on tape, I think it’s important to keep them alive. P.S. for those of you who are interested, Bukem had broken his arm and was mixing one handed. soulful/intelligent/atmospheric drum n bass jungle at its very FINEST.
