My personal favourite ABBA era. Both marriages ended in this period (although Björn and Agnetha were already separated). Miraculously the band stayed together long enough to output its most bleak and mature songs. Restlessness of course won in the end, with the girls focusing on solo careers and the boys wanting to try their hand at musical theatre; they had been in talks with Tim Rice as early as 1981. ABBA went on hiatus. There’s bound to be opinions that I should not have included “Hovas Vittne“ or “Fanfare for Icehockey World Championships ’81“ as they were not released publicly but as a limited private release and for publicity purposes respectively. “I Am The Seeker“ was a backing track deemed too poor for ABBA but was allowed to be used in the muscial “Abbacadabra“ by Don Black and Mike Batt. I wish they hadn’t; it’s ruined my video :P “Slowly“ is the only B&B composition given to an ABBA member post-ABBA. Some ABBA fans prefer Frida’s vocal, but some prefer the version by Gemini as it was actually produced by B&B. Frida’s came first, so here it is!
