American McGee’s Mad Hatter Speed Painting

This is a speed painting of American McGee’s Mad Hatter done in Gimp 2.6 using a Wacom Bamboo tablet. The character is featured in both American McGee’s Alice and Alice: Madness Returns. Although I am more partial to the March Hare- especially the American McGee rendition- finding a picture of the March Hare that has much detail is a bit more difficult than finding one of the Mad Hatter. While I prefer the higher level of detail I can achieve with only using black and white I decided to put color into this painting for the sake of aesthetics. The dull greens and reds add to the persona of the Mad Hatter and was the reason I used them. I do realize this video runs alittle longer than your average speed painting, but if you did manage to stumble across it I ask that you have some patience or at least skip ahead to the final product.
