George Whitefield Chadwick (The Angel of Death)

One of the final major works by George Whitefield Chadwick, The Angel of Death was written in 1918. The symphonic poem was inspired by Daniel Chester French’s bas-relief, which was carved for the tomb of the sculptor Martin Milmore.
