(ECNS) -- Several fossil footprints of dinosaurs were found at a restaurant in downtown Leshan, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province.
Xing Lida, an associate professor from the China University of Geosciences in Beijing, and other experts from Zigong Dinosaur Museum in Zigong city have jointly surveyed the fossil footprints of brontosauruses, with the support of drone videography and 3D scanning.
Experts confirmed the footprints belong to two brontosauruses, a species of large-scale herbivorous dinosaur from the Cretaceous Jiaguan Formation. The two sauropod dinosaurs had activities along the riverbanks in the drought environment of ancient Leshan about 100 million years ago and left more than 10 fossil footprints on two trails.
