Jawa 350 typ 640 ’01 with Dell’Orto PHBH 28

I’ve been annoyed that with the Jikov carb engine had a habit for stalling when throttle was opened fast after sitting in traffic lights etc. So I’ve decided to buy a new Dellorto to see how it runs with it. Straight away I noticed a big difference in throttle response and the stalling problem seems to be completely sorted. Through the whole rev range it seems to run very smoothly but it needs a little bit more throttle to keep up travelling speed. That’s not a real problem. And when I hit the full throttle I’ve noticed that the bike accelerated better than with Jikov. Especially with higher revs it’s sharper than before. Ofcourse my engine has 62 000km without any repairs so maybe with new pistons & rebore the new carb can do a much more. Now I have the 105 main jet and 55 idle jet and it seems to work fine. I’ve tested 96 main jet but it went too lean mixture at full throttle. Dellorto seems a good carb for Jawa 638 engine. I can recommend.
