Aleksandra Pakhmutova - Tenderness | Александра Пахмутова - Нежность Igor Sirotinsky - guitar Игорь Сиротинский - гитара My guitar arrangement of the popular Soviet song “Nezhnost’ “ from the 1967 film “Three Poplars on Plutschikha“ by wonderful composer and song-writer Aleksandra Pakhmutova. “Tenderness” was one of the most popular songs among the Soviet pilots and cosmonauts including the Planet’s first cosmonaut - Yuri Gagarin. There is a “male” version of the song titled “Your Tenderness”, with the same melody but different lyrics written by Sergei Grebennikov and Nikolai Dobronravov in 1966. The main melody of the song reveals a complete, note to note, resemblance to the musical phrase from the third movement (“Sentimental Sarabande”) of the “Simple Symphony” by Benjamin Britten, first performed in 1934. Britten’s musical phrase is developed and extended throughout the song and this development becomes the “driving force“ of “Tenderness“.
