In this video I make a bowl with eight petals from Carole Rothman’s book “Scroll Saw Wooden Bowls“. She made hers from walnut but I am using less expensive woods to practice and perfect the procedures before I use an exotic wood. I used the inflatible sander on this one and did some real shaping for the first time. I wanted to thin the rim of the bowl and give it a little outward flare. I think I was mostly succesful. It seems that I made some error in the angles as the entry holes were a little off and the rings did not line up as well as my last two or three bowls. It required a lot of sanding to make everything match but I think I got it looking ok in spite of that.
