TRA LA LA, The Majors, Imperial #5936 1963

TRA LA LA, The Majors, (Imperial #5936) 1963 Flipside: WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOIN’ -- Here is another really great up-tempo song from my collection. It co-written by iconic singer/songwriter/producer/arranger Van McCoy. The Majors group members were Ricky Cordo, Ron Gathers, Gene Glass, Idella Morris and Frank Troutt, they all hailed from Philadelphia, PA and started out singing as The Premiers. They changed their name to The Versatiles when they recorded their first single, “LUNDEE DUNDEE“ (Ro-Cal #1002) in 1960. The next time they recorded was for Imperial Records and they changed their name to The Majors. They had 3 songs charted nationally on Billboard. Their biggest “A WONDERFUL DREAM“ charted in September 1962 for 11 weeks and reached #22. Enjoy this really great up-tempo song “TRA LA LA“ with Ricky Corbo’s fabulous falsetto lead voice.
