Agribusiness Watch: Independent news to stop the carnage in Brazil
Brazil is collapsing. Under Jair Bolsonaro’s far-right populism, the country has suffered over half a million COVID deaths, lost the equivalent of the entire country of Switzerland to deforestation, and over 19 million people are starving.
Bolsonaro’s violence goes beyond scientific denialism. It’s allied with greedy domestic and international market interests. A country runned by the interests of the cattle ranching, industrial soybean farming, logging, mining, and real estate development and speculation. A Brazil profiting from the carnage.
But there is also another Brazi: the indigenous peoples, quilombo communities, peasants, those who want food, not poison. The Brazil of environmentalists, researchers, and science.
