Fly Tying: Diamond Dub Scud

This is a fly I have been working on for a while now. I have had the pattern almost ironed out for over a year now, but I have been searching for a dubbing that really compliments the fly. I had been resorting to blending dubbings together but the flies were still missing something. I tied one with the diamond dub, and went out to test it. The fish loved it, so I tried it an various other colors as well. The 4 colors that have treated me the best are the 4 at the beginning of the video, all of them are tied exactly the same, except I change the color of the dubbing. Materials I used in the video: Hook: Dai-Riki scud hook (#14) Thread: Daville flymaster plus 70 Denier Brown Lead: .015 lead wire Antenna: Partridge feather Dubbing: Arizona Diamond Dub Hare’s Ear (The other three are: Dark Hare’s Ear, Tan, Oak) Back: Mottled Thin Skin Oak Segmentation: UTC Amber Small Wire Resin: Loon Thick and Thin UV Resin Music - “Darian Gap“ by Josh Woodward.
