full interview with director of 964 Pinocchio, Shozin Fukui (Fukui Shōjin), a bonus feature on the Unearthed Films release of 964 Pinocchio there used to be an upload of this on youtube but whoever had it up took it down. (edit: there is one, but since the previous one disappeared before, i’ll leave this upload here just in case) i find this interview offers a lot of insight on Fukui’s process and the way he intended the film to be experienced. highly recommend this for people who loved 964 Pinocchio and (maybe even more so) for people who hated it.
